A stakeholder meeting was held on 15-11-2017 at 11 A.M. in the Auditorium of Nowgong Polytechnic. In addition to the faculty, student and staff of Nowgong Polytechnic, the meeting was attended by ex-student (Alumni), persons from industry and dignitaries from the locality. Dr Dilip Kr Talukdar, Principal welcome the guests and explained the purpose of the meeting. Ramen. Kr. Choudhury, Lecturer cum Nodal Officer, gave a comprehensive presentation on the theme i.e. NBA accreditation.
All departments viz. Civil Engg, Mechanical Engg, Electrical Engg and Computer Engg presented Vision, Mission and Program Educational Objectives(PEOs) of the respective programs in the meeting and asked the stakeholder to give their opinion/suggestion on the PEOs.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Guna Mani Gogoi, MD, The Assam Co-operative Jute Mills Ltd, Silghat, Nagaon focused on accreditation highlighting the need for co-operation between industry and institution.He also gave assurance in providing opportunities to students of Nowgong Polytechnic in gaining practical training and guidance on project report preparation and other such requirements.
The dignitaries who expressed their views regarding accreditation include - 1) Mr. Tapan Lahkar, an alumni, presently working as Sr. Section Engineer, NF Railway, Maligaon, Guwahati, 2) Mr. Haren Chandra Borah, an alumni, a renowned enterpreneur of the state and 3) Mr Hiteswar laskar, an alumni and the Former Principal of Nowgong Polytechnic. Sri Manash Pratim Chetia, GS, Nowgong Polytechnic Student Union expressed his inquisitiveness regarding the impact of NBA accreditation on the students.
Dr. D. K. Talukdar, Principal, sum up the session by responding to the queries put by various speakers. Mr Uttam Ghosh, Lecturer (SG), Humanities, presented vote of thanks.
